Check out the available safety features on the 2018 Honda Civic
Back in March we blogged about the 2018 Honda Civic and gave a general overview to this popular model. This time we're going to focus on a specific area: safety.
We want the customers we serve in the Gonzales, Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Prairieville, and Plaquemine areas to not just look good behind the wheel of their vehicle, but to also feel protected and the Honda Civic delivers just that.
All Civic's come with a rearview camera, LED daytime running lights, and Bluetooth. The rearview camera is helpful for backing up not only in your own driveway, but also in parking lots that're filled with shoppers, carts, and slow-moving cars. LED daytime running lights provide extra visibility, and the Bluetooth helps you keep your hands off your phone by streaming music and calls.
While these are a good start for drivers on a budget or those who like to keep things simple, you can ramp it up with a helpful add-on.
Except for a few instances, all Civic trims have the availability to get the Honda Sensing® package of advanced safety technologies. The caveats are that the top-level Touring trim has the package standard and the six-speed manual on the base trim cannot get it, but the CVT base model can.
Honda Sensing® includes the following technologies:
- Lane departure warning
- Lane keeping assist
- Road departure mitigation
- Adaptive cruise control
- Forward collision warning
- Collision braking system
While these features aren't a substitute for safe driving habits (keep checking over your shoulders before changing lanes, please!), they do provide added peace of mind, and shoppers that drive a lot or have children onboard often appreciate them.
When you come into our dealership to test drive the Honda Civic you want to buy or lease, your rep can show you how the systems work. Stop in this week to start the shopping process for this well-rounded vehicle!
